FELICITATION TO Dr. RAJU TEGGELLI

It was a proud moment to the fraternity of Entomology of UAS, Raichur. The ICAR-KVK, Kalaburagi under the leadership of Dr. Raju Teggelli, Programme coordinator bagged the second prize “PANDIT DEENDAYAL UPADHYAY KRISHI VIGYAN PROTSAHAN PURASKAR 2020” award instituted by ICAR, New Delhi for the year 2020. ICAR-KVK, Kalaburagi under his guidance and team support has demonstrated several innovative technologies for improving not only the crop production and productivity but also increasing the farmer’s income by channelizing the produce into right market.

Dr. Raju Teggelli through his innovative ideas, supportive nature and hard work has nurtured several youths into farming. As a result, Mr. Sharanabasappa an innovative farmer also won ICAR instituted “JAGJIVAN RAM ABHINAV KISAN PURASKAR/ JAGJIVAN RAM INNOVATIVE FARMER AWARD”. Dr. Raju Teggelli an entomologist by specialization has extended his expertise in other agricultural sciences. Dr. Bheemanna M, Dean of the College and University Head, Dr. Ahoka J, Comptroller, Dr. Prabhuraj A, Department Head, the faculty and students of the Department of Agril. Entomology, UAS, Raichur felicitated and congratulated Dr. Raju Teggelli for his distinguished achievement and wished him all the best to win many more such awards.

THURSDAY GROUP MEET

“THURSDAY GROUP” meet is an interactive, knowledge enriching and personality development forum in the field of Entomology. This meet was started by the Head of the department for the benefit of PG students of Agril. Entomology.

The main objectives this group is

To expose students to basics and applied research activities going on at regional, national and international level.
To encourage students to participate in the group discussion on various entomological research publications.
To mold the budding entomologists to think and act independent in the entomological science.
To coach PG students in for various competitive examinations viz., NET, ASRB scientists, ICAR-SRF etc.
To provide opportunity to interact with senior entomologists through guest lectures and to express their .

In order to fulfill the above objectives, series of guest lectures, brain storming sessions of important publications, coaching classes by the senior ASRB scientists for ARS scientist examination are organized. At present it has completed seven meetings and drawn good response from the faculty and students of Entomology.
