Welcoming Wandering gliders

  • Fresher’s Party” in any college is an event that every student eagerly awaits from their time of admission. Fresher’s Party is to welcome new students in a friendly atmosphere and to encourage their creative impulses to boost their confidence. It is the day where seniors and juniors finally bond and unite to celebrate being part of the college. A Fresher’s Party with the theme “Wandering Gliders” was organized on 9th March 2022, Wednesday. The program was organized by the senior M.Sc. (Agri) and senior Ph.D. students for the freshers of Ph.D. and M.Sc. newcomers at the Seminar Hall of COA, UAS, Raichur. The program was hosted by Ms. Chaitanya and Mr. Sandeep, students from 2nd Year M.Sc. Agri.
  • The program started at 4pm as per the schedule planned. And the function was addressed by guests, Mr. Somasekhar, Entomologist (Rtd.) MARS UASR, Dr. M. Bheemanna. Dean (PGS), UASR, Dr. Satyanarayana Rao, Dean (Agri), COA, UASR Dr. Pramodkatti, Nodal officer, ICAR, UASR and Dr. Prabhuraj. A. Professor and Head, Dept. of Entomology, UASR. The program starts with the invocation by Varnitha. This was followed by the lamp lightening by the Dignitaries. Then the Guests of the function expressed their opinions and suggestions. Senior students had done welcome of beloved 1st-year freshers. The new talents were showcased in the department veranda.
  • One of the 2nd year Ph.D. scholars (D Neethu Roy) read out the address of welcome and received the new students cordially with roses and a memento. All the new-comers expressed their feelings and gratitude. Dr. Prabhuraj. A, Professor and Head, Dept. of Entomology officially addressed the gathering by a presidential speech and the cordial function was ended with the Vote of Thanks by one of the senior students Ms. Sai pooja who thanked the chief guest, the teachers, and the students of the Entomology department for their cooperation in making the function a success.

  • After that, the cultural group of the freshers performed their songs, dances, Guitar, and also participated in games conducted by Mr. Jayant. The function came to a close at 7.30 pm with the fine dinner arranged in the college lawn.
