Superannuation of Dr. M. Bheemanna and Dr. J. Ashoka

  • After over three decades of service to in the field of Entomology, our great teachers Dr. M Bheemanna (Professor and Head (PRFQAL), University Head, Dept of Entomology and Dean (PGS), UAS Raichur) and Dr. J. Ashoka (Professor of Sericulture, Dept of Entomology and  Comptroller, UAS Raichur)retired from the service on 16th June, 2022. Traditionally, when such historic moment comes, it indeed marks a life passage into the next chapter for an employee. The function for retirement was memorable, heartfelt and honourable.

    The function was organized by the Dept. of Entomology UAS Raichur. Under the guidance of Dr. A. G. Sreenivas, Professor of Entomology , the programme commenced with the Invocation and welcoming the gathering. The event looked complete and beautiful with the gracious presence of Dr. M. Bheemanna, Dr. J. Ashok, and their family. The sweet memories of their association during the service period were shared by Mr. Somasekhar, Entomologist (Retd.) MARS UASR, Dr. Pramodkatti, Nodal officer, ICAR, UASR, Dr. S.S. Kharabhantanal, Associate Professor, UASD and other the entomology faculty. Later students shared their association with retiring scientists expressing their gratitude to both the professors and lauded their dedication, patience and kindness which will never be forgotten. The function hall was overwhelmed with the mixed emotions.To lighten up the mood of the program,a small  video clip with bunch of photos was played to recollect the sweet memories that faculty and students had together. And finally, the cynosure of the program Dr. M. Bheemanna and Dr. J. Ashok shared experience of their professional life, which mesmerised the gathering. All the attendees gave their token of love and felicitated to both the professors and their family and thanked them for their endless patience, motivation and persistence which shaped the carriers of young scientists and students. And finally, everyone wished them a very Happy Retirement life. The program ended with the dinner at International Guest house.
